My name is Amanda Cronlund. I have studied medicine and partnered with patients for over 20 years. I am dual board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner as well as being a Certified Nurse Midwife. Despite being trained in the traditional medical model, I have always integrated wellness optimization into patient care. As I have grown as a healthcare provider, I have embraced the pursuit of the new knowledge science offers regarding how our bodies function, framed in the belief that we were designed to heal and live well. My conviction being, that we are not “sick” because we lack a medication. We are “sick” or experiencing symptoms, because something has gone “offline” in our body’s function. Symptoms and sickness are a clue that will help us promote healing. I utilize medications, when necessary, but would rather discover the root cause of a symptom and promote healing via lifestyle modification, nutrition, movement, and mindfulness whenever possible.
- I am board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- I am also board certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) as a Certified Nurse-Midwife.
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
FNPs are holistic, independent primary care providers. The scope of our care includes physical exams, ordering and performing diagnostic tests, diagnosing, prescribing medications, and making referrals. FNPs treat acute and chronic illnesses for men, women, and pediatric patients. https://www.aanp.org/
Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM)
The word midwife means “with woman.” CNMs are independent care providers specialized in partnering with women throughout their lives.
- The care provided is focused on reproductive health, women’s health, primary care, gynecological services, preconception, prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Additionally, CNMs partner with women in peri- and post-menopausal care. https://www.amcbmidwife.org/

Dr. Brandon Lundell says, “Good doctors know what to do. Great doctors know why.” I would go a step further in asserting that the best doctors help their patients understand the “why.” When we understand why something is occurring, not only is it empowering, it is also motivating. I am an avid learner, but I also endeavor to help my patients understand their bodies and the strategies we are implementing to optimize their wellness. I have found that when my patients understand the “why” they can move mountains. It’s a beautiful partnership. I am not a doctor, but as a primary care provider, this is personal objective I carry during every patient interaction. I want you to understand the “why.”
