Step 1
Email me with a request for an initial consultation.  I will reach out to you and we will set up a virtual initial consultation.

Step 2
We will have discussed how we will run our virtual consultation via email, but it will probably be on your computer, phone, or tablet through Zoom.us.  If you do not have the ability to connect virtually, we can still connect via telephone.  Either way, I’ll get to “meet” you, and I can hardly wait!  At that time, we’ll discuss what you are looking for in a wellness-partner, any health concerns you may have, and your expectations.  This gives us an opportunity to figure out if we are a good fit. If you believe we are, we will proceed.

Step 3
Our partnership is based on mutual investment. If you believe we are a good fit, we will proceed to building your EHR together.

  • I will walk you through all of the questions you would normally get in a stack of papers at a regular doctor’s visit.
  • Prior to our consultation, please take a few minutes to write down your temperature, weight, height, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • If we are going to be consulting about your child, we will need the same information.  Please have current information ready prior to our consultation.

Once we have established you as a patient-partner, I will send you an invitation to our patient portal.

  • You will have to create a login and password.
  • Once you do, you’ll have access to your records 24/7.
  • Access to the consultation schedule.
  • Access to the secure messaging.

Step 4
During each consultation we will address your primary concern for that day. I will give you the information necessary for making an informed choice regarding your care. Once you have made an informed choice, we will implement your care plan accordingly, and follow-up based on your needs.

Step 5
Later, when you have another concern, you will log into your patient portal, request a consultation, and I’ll get you on the schedule. If you do not think it requires a consultation or it is not urgent, you can direct message me via the portal and I will respond to you as soon as possible. This is a great option if you lost your medication or need a refill. I’ll be able to send in a prescription, message you back, and we’re all set!

**Side note, if your entire family has a tummy bug and you are all sick, we will need to set aside more time so that I can assess each family member individually. Care for children is quite different from care for grown ups. I want to equip parents with the “How, What, When, and Where on Care” for your sick kids.

  • How? How are we treating your child right now? Options could include: home care, urgent care, ER care, etc.
  • What? What are we going to do? Options could include: prescription, watch and wait, fever management, labs, etc.
  • When? When do you call back for re-evaluation? Options could include: change in status or new concerns.
  • Where? Where do I go if…? We will tailor a plan based on the situation.

There are limitless variations to this process that include labs, x rays, referrals, and prescriptions. Ultimately, my hope is to increase and improve your access to care. As needs arise, we can discuss the best plan of action to meet your needs.
